Bicycling With the Buffleheads – Week of May 1st

My husband, Rob, and my daughter, Cedar, and I are getting more and more excited for the 4 month bicycle journey through Maine, Atlantic Canada, and Quebec that we plan to start the first week of May.  Last year we noticed the Buffleheads (our favorite – and the smallest – of the diving sea ducks) for the last time on May 2^nd, before they migrated north.  So we’ve been looking every day for Buffleheads as we cross the causeway to the Friends School of Portland each morning, hoping they won’t leave without us and we can accompany them as they start their trip north this year.
